본 발명은 이산화망간을 백금족 귀금속으로 활성화시켜 얻은 산화 촉매를 유동층 반응기에 도입하고, 이를 디젤 엔진의 배기 가스 매니폴드의 바로 뒷부분에 장착함으로써 디젤 엔진의 가연성 물질을 여과와 동시에 연소 제거함을 특징으로 하는 디젤 엔진의 매연 제거 방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명에 사용되는 재료들은 매우 저렴하고 풍부한 것들이며, 낮은 온도에서도 매연을 효율적으로 산화시켜 제거할 수 있으므로 공업적으로 매우 효과적이다.
