We demonstrate a second harmonic subcarrier generation(SH-SCG) technique for
subcarrier multiplexed (SCM) header, which is required to suppress linear crosstalk to
payload. To resolve this problem, we increase the spectral distance between payload and
header signal using the SH-SCG technique and suppress the optical carrier component of
header signal. The back-to-back BER estimation of 2.5-Gb/s payload shows that the power
penalty induced by the linear crosstalk with 155-Mb/s header is 0.3dB at a BER of 10-9.
