In this article, a new small size of the narrow bandwidth elliptic function band pass filter (BPF) using combination of spur-line and meander-line resonator with mu-near zero (MNZ) metamaterial is presented. The MNZ resonator consists of complimentary structure and the resonator has band-stop resonant characteristic and positive phase response (+90 degrees) due to its zero-value permeability. The experimental result for quality factor (Q) of the resonator is 213 at resonant frequency of 9.98 GHz. Also, the BPF is composed of complimentary MNZ resonator and coupling structure. Then, the measurement results for insertion and return losses of a proposed BPF are 1.58 and 15.4 dB with bandwidth of 2.5% at center frequency of 9.96 GHz, respectively. The overall size of the BPF is 5.16 x 5.16 mm(2).
