본 발명은 두 개의 치환기 R 및 R'가 비대칭적으로 도입되어 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 신규한 디아민 화합물 및 상기 디아민 화합물을 이용한 중합체에 관한 것으로 이미드화가 진행된 후에도 유기용매로의 용해도가 충분하고 가공성이 우수하고, 필름화해도, 열적, 기계적 및 광학적 특성이 우수한 물성을 유지할 수 있으므로, 전기, 전자용 또는 광학용 재료 물질로서 유용한 폴리머를 제공할 수 있다.
