We present experimental and numerical results of passively Q-switched laser pulse width variation in a Nd:YAG laser oscillator and amplifier combination system using a stimulated Brillouin scattering mirror. When the laser pulse reflected from the SBS mirror returns to the oscillator, the population inversion density of the laser medium can be variably reduced, so that the Q-switched laser pulse width can be varied using the energy of the feedback pulse.
