The physical principles of NMR is reviewed and methods and algorithms of the Fourier transform NMR tomographic imaging are developed and analysed.
Based on the principles, NMR imaging system using 1 KG magnet (KAIS NMR Tomograph) was developed. Electronics and instrumentation necessary for the NMR imaging system were designed and developed and their design considerations and functional operations are described.
Using the KAIS NMR Tomograph, the effects of r.f. and gradient pulse are studied and new method is explored with which magnet instability, inherent to conventional resistive magnet, can be overcome. Experimental and simulated results including human images are also presented.
