Maternal Education and Allocation of Time and Childrens Health in South Korea

This paper attempts to identify the mechanisms through which maternal education affects child health through her time allocation. Estimating a LISREL system of production functions for child health with the 1994 Korean household survey data, it is shown that a mothers education promotes her childs health by allocating a greater amount of time for leisure.
