Atomically thin 2D materials have introduced new physics and complementary for conventional electronics. Therefore, synthetic strategies on various atomically thin 2D materials have attracted significant interests and, among them, synthesis at the air-liquid interface has been eagerly researched since the synthetic method is suitable to fabricate materials that cannot be synthesized by conventional chemical vapor deposition (CVD). In this thesis, we report synthesis of the 2D monolayer metal-organic framework (MOF) at the air-liquid interface and, with the material, we introduce gas sensor application and patterning technique specialized for 2D MOF.
