In this research, we proposed an artwork metadata relations visualization function in a 3D virtual exhibition authoring system. Our study offers preliminary evidence that artwork relations visualization inside a 3D virtual exhibition authoring system can provide a more practical curatorial workflow and find new curatorial meanings for the exhibition's theme. The proposed function was developed from the formative study of arts professionals and theoretical backgrounds. Our contribution in this relatively less researched field can be summarized in two points: (1) Allowing continuous authoring by visualizing the relations of the artworks’ metadata inside the 3D virtual authoring space. (2) Enhancing creativity in the curatorial process by visualizing relations of the artworks’ multiple metadata. Overall, we conclude that our proposed function has the potential to address some challenges the 3D virtual exhibition authoring tools face: being an assistance apt to the curator's real-life workflow, and to the curatorial capacity.
