A surface tracking Lagrangian finite element approach for the analysis of rheological behavior of concrete and fresh cement pastes through the solution of the steady-state Navier Stokes equations is proposed in this study. The method proposes a novel yield stress criterion to stop the simulation in accordance with the Bingham plastic model theory. The simulation is verified through simulations of the channel flow test and comparison with the results from the previous used Volume of Fluid method. The results show a similar trend, and the proposed model shows potential for further rheological analysis. The U-box test for evaluation of passing ability of concrete has also been simulated through the proposed model.
