Polar codes are error-correcting schemes first proposed by Arikan, which are channel codes proven to achieve channel capacity with only the complexity of practical decoding. Polar codes using channel polarization are currently being researched to be applied to communication of security and control signals. To decode these polar codes, Successive-Cancellation decoding method have traditionally been widely used. In this paper, we propose an enhanced Successive-Cancellation decoding method of polar codes, and we propose an implementation of the decoding circuit using them. To reduce recursive operations of over-repeated tree structures, we utilize pruning algorithm based on a syndrome vector for a particular node. Additionally, we apply algorithms to mitigate computation at the leaf nodes, enabling circuits to be more efficient in situations where the noise-to-signal ratio is poor.
