Bacterial biofilms have the function of protecting cells from various external stimuli. However, in terms of the host, it is the object of interest to suppress this since the formation of the biofilm greatly contributes to the pathogenicity of the fungus and antibiotic resistance. In this thesis, we will explore the compounds that inhibit the expression of genes involved in the biofilm formation of Escherichia coli and its mechanism, and examine the effect of light irradiation from light emitting diodes on the gene expression as described above.
