A construction of Horikawa surface via Q-Gorenstein smoothings
We prove that the Fintushel-Stern construction of a Horikawa surface, which is obtained from elliptic surface via a rational blow-down surgery in the smooth category, can be performed in the complex category. The main technique involved is Q-Gorenstein smoothings.
